INFO
Martha is a Gloucestershire-based artist whose practice centres on the creation of wearable landscapes.
Through handcrafted garments and textile works, she transforms natural environments into forms that can be inhabited, carried, and performed. Drawing on woodland ecologies, ancient sites, and the folklore embedded within the British landscape, her work blurs the boundaries between body and place, clothing and sculpture.
Developed through walking, observation, and site-responsive research, her practice seeks to capture not only the appearance of a landscape but its atmosphere, the feeling of being within a place.
Through textile processes and garment-making, Martha translates fleeting experiences of light, weather, memory, and presence into tactile forms that can be worn and encountered. Situated between textile art, craft, and fine art, her work explores how landscapes are carried within us, and how the body can become a vessel for connection to the natural world.
All the pieces are created by hand and everything is designed and constructed from my studio in Gloucestershire.
